Role and Responsibilities
Part of the role of an Estimator will be to prepare competitive tender and quote submissions to achieve at least 60% conversion rate, with an achievable gross margin of a minimum of 20% on operational delivery.
You will be driven to succeed and draw on your considerable experience, in addition to utilising available software to provide estimates which consider a wide range of technical and practical impacts (such as specification choice and logistics) on the anticipated margins.
You will support your colleagues in the wider business with pricing queries and attend site as required.
Part of your role will be to carry out site visits when required to gain a better understanding of the local conditions that may have an effect on the pricing, programming, specification choice and/or methods of construction, with particular attention to compliance with Health & Safety Regulations.
You will be responsible for delivering secured contracts which have the required level of opportunities to ensure the operational team can exit with margins >20%, in addition to this you will be required to ensure that all information needed to complete works is entered into or attached to the database to allow delivery of works by Project Manager on approval, ensuring the operational team can exit within agreed % margins.
