A Leading UK Manufacturing Organisation have a fantastic opportunity for a Buyer to join their growing team, based out of the Leeds head office. This is a full end to end buying role responsible for managing the direct material spend for the manufacturing process, along with some of the indirect services required for the production facility.

Ideally we are looking to speak with candidates who have experience working within a manufacturing environment, that have dealt with both direct materials and have proven cost saving experience.

Role Responsibilities

Manage direct material spend for the manufacturing process

Deal with some indirect categories needed to help the factory operate

Source new suppliers, whilst developing relationships with current supply base

Negotiate terms and prices with suppliers

Carry out RFQ process, analysing quotations received

Raise purchase orders

Chase critical orders with suppliers to ensure on time delivery

Resolve any quality issues with suppliers, working closely with QA team to understand ongoing issues

Ensure suppliers all meet company compliance specifications

Experience Required:

Buying experience within the manufacturing industry

Proven cost savings experience

Knowledge of manufacturing processes

Strong negotiation experience

Experience managing both direct and indirect categories
