IT Manager required for our client, a well established Events Company, based in Central London.
The IT department is responsible for maintaining the company's IT, AV and Business systems and for providing efficient support to our corporate users at our 16 different sites throughout the UK as well as external clients.
The IT Manager role is both and operational and Management role requiring in-depth knowledge of the technologies we use as well as excellent management and mentoring skills.
As IT Manager, you will report to the IT Director and will participate in the strategic planning for future infrastructure and IT support needs for the company. You will be responsible for a small team of technicians and be responsible for the delivery of IT support to our internal clients.
You should have a minimum of 3 years' management experience working in a similar multi-site fast paced environment with demonstrable hands on experience administering the technologies we use. Demonstrable Hands-on experience is a requirement for this role as is experience of managing IT teams.
Any Experience working within a multi-site environment will be an advantage as will be prior experience of working with Audio-Visual systems.
The role requires excellent inter-personal and communications skills as you will be liaising with internal and external clients at all levels in the company.
Essential Skills
* Existing IT management experience
* Windows Server management 2008 R2/2012/2016
* Good Knowledge of Active Directory/Group Policy/DHCP
* Experience of Microsoft HA Clustering and DNS configuration and administration
* Good working knowledge of Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop, RDS and Terminal Services
* Good working knowledge of VMware (ESX, vSphere, etc)
* Experienced with multi-site wireless networks
* Solid networking knowledge, including configuration and Administration (LANs, WANs, Routers, VLANs, VPNs, Wi-Fi)
* SQL Server Administration or DBA skill
* MS Exchange 2010 and later versions
* Web server Configuration& Administration
* Experience with SCCM/WSUS/WDS
* IT Project management skills
* Data Centre management experience
* Experience of SANs, Backup Systems, DR
* Security (endpoint and server security, proxies, anti-ransomware, etc)
* Ability to communicate at all levels (end users to Directors)
* 3rd Party Application maintenance, update and patching
* Well presented with good communications and interpersonal skills
* Good attention to detail, enthusiastic with a can-do attitude
* Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment, prioritising and multi-tasking effectively
* Must be available and able to work extended hours when required
* Passionate about customer service, IT and technology
* Must be able to deal direct with clients in a friendly and confident manner
* Able to travel to any of our venues when required
* Ability to understand Audio-Visual systems and interface with IT systems
Key responsibilities
* Working with the IT Director to define the strategic plans for future infrastructure, network and IT support needs for the business
* Responsible for the provision of high level IT support services to internal and external clients and venue staff (IT, AV, Wi-Fi, Networking, etc.)
* Responsible for the management, operation, support and improvement of business systems and servers (web, app, DB)
* Responsible for the management and operation of the technical infrastructure - IT, Audio Visual, Networking, Compute, Storage, etc.
* Responsible for the implementation, maintenance and monitoring of the IT, security and Audio Visual environments.
* Administration, Patching and monitoring of the servers & storage environments to identify and act on issues before they become problems.
* Responsible for the management, guidance and mentoring of the IT team staff and contractors to ensure that operational systems and infrastructure run efficiently across all venues;
* Recommendation, Implementation and management of security systems at all levels in order to protect the company's data and infrastructure
* Managing subcontract, supplier and support company relationships
* Manages vendors supplying managed services to the company.
* Add value to the business by driving greater efficiency and effectiveness through systems, automation and process improvement.
* Ensures security and upgrades are applied to all endpoints, servers and networking equipment
* Management of Backups, DR and BC systems
* Optimizes system availability, security, and performance of systems.
* Responsible for the provision and maintenance of Hardware and Software throughout the company
* Help drive the implementation of ITIL processes as required
* Keep up to date documentation of infrastructure and systems
* Maintain and Monitor the Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop environment and provides support to end users when required
* Maintain and Monitor the VMware environment and all key subsystems
* Risk assessment of system stability and deployment of mitigation measures
* Plan and manage IT projects and delivery of IT for any new sites
* Oversight of LAN / WAN infrastructure / associated IT Systems
* Training and induction process of new staff relating to IT needs and support
* IT related purchasing management
