Night Hostel Worker

An exciting opportunity has arisen for energetic and highly motivated people to join Liverpool YMCA. Night Workers assist in the provision of effective, high quality support services to vulnerable, homeless adults with the aim of promoting independent living.

You will work to exceptional therapeutic standards including Cognitive Analytical Therapy and Trauma Informed Care.

The role of the Night Worker will include:

* Assisting Support Workers with residents tasks and take direction as required
* Encourage involvement and participation from residents in the delivery and shaping of their support
* Ensure at all times the health and safety of yourself and others on the premises in which you work in accordance to LYMCA policies and procedures
* Be a representative of LYMCA
* Liaise with a range of statutory and voluntary sector partners
* Assist with and adhere to the risk management process
* Ensure Mainstay assessments are conducted

The successful Night Worker will possess:

* The ability to support residents who display challenging behaviour including verbal aggression
* Evidence of continuing professional development
* Experience of working in a support service or hostel setting
* Competent in using advanced I.T skills to support delivery of tasks and have capacity to learn new applications and packages
* Committed to improving the lives of people with mental health and complex needs
* Creative and dynamic with the ability to think outside the box when providing solutions
* Excellent interpersonal/ communication skills
* Commitment to own career development
* Reliability

It is recognised that the association is operating in a dynamic environment and as such this job description may be varied in consultation with the post holder to reflect evolving needs of the business and changing nature of the job.

The hostel is staffed 24/7 and the post holder will be working on a rolling rota of 4 shifts on and 4 shifts off primarily between the hours of 8pm to 8am over 7 days including weekends and bank holidays.
