System Building Products Limited are a market leading UK manufacturer of bespoke building products and systems. The Technical Services team are looking for someone to join the team as a Technical Assistant. This is a new role which will enable to the successful candidate to develop and learn in a varied and challenging environment. Suitable candidates for the role should be able to fulfill the brief below;
**Principal Duties and Responsibilities:**
* Provide technical assistance on all system building products to internal customers UK Sales Area Business Managers, Management team, Internal Sales, Manufacturing, Operations
* Provide a technical service to all external customers Architects, Roof contractors, Local Authorities, Engineers by phone, email and at meetings
* Maintain the companys product typical details CAD library and other company CAD documents
* Administer and develop technical information such as BIM, thermal and acoustic models
* Administer NBS style specifications
* Support and coordinate structural calculations and take-offs using in-house software
* Active involvement in new and existing product development
* Ensure all technical filing is completed and easy to access (hard copy, digital, reference literature)
* Provide assistance to the senior members of the technical team with any ad-hoc technical duties or projects
**Skills, abilities and characteristics**
* Significant experience in a similar Technical support role, ideally within a construction-related product or systems environment
* Ideally degree or professionally qualified Structural Engineering, Design
* Experience in manufacturing of building / construction products and systems Roofing, claddings, panels, ceilings and flooring
* CAD skills (2D and 3D), ideally to include AutoDesk Revit and Inventor
* Focused on providing excellent customer service
* Must have a practical and logical approach to work
* Able to present a calm and can do attitude
* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
* Confident IT user with experience in reporting and analysis
* Driven, passionate and committed to ensuring personal and company success
Some travelling to the sites in the group will be required in this role, so a clean driving license is required.
Hours of work are 8.30am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week). Benefits available include life assurance, contributory pension, employee assistance program, free car parking and drinks.
