Experienced Contract Manager required for expanding Dorking Landscaping company.
**Key responsibilities: **
* Input into and implement the strategy for the business
* Contribute fully to the effective running of the various contracts by ensuring that they are delivering their objectives on a day to day basis
* Participate in securing the long-term future of the contracts by ensuring that each contract has a long term plan that develops the potential of the contract in terms of benefits to the public, client and profitability
* Provide the leadership required to meet objectives
* Be technically able and play a proactive role in securing new business
* Maintain good relations with existing clients
* Direct the business activity of the Contracts
* Build and maintain a sound organisational structure, recruiting, training and motivating staff within the Contracts
* Monitor the performance of the operation through the proper Company accounting and reporting procedures
* Ensure that vehicles, plant and equipment (including mobile phones and laptops) are utilised efficiently and correctly with the correct maintenance and service schedules followed.
* Safeguard the companys corporate image and credibility
* Proactively target additional business: tendering and pricing as suitable in accordance with the Company Pricing Policy
* Take responsibility for health and safety, actively participating in the maintenance and improvement of the overall Company Health and Safety culture
** Daily tasks:**
Carry out all financial accounting requirements including:
Ensure the contract delivers to plan, budget and profit
* Prepare monthly contract reports (detail as agreed with Area Manager)
* Control operations within the approved annual budget
* Review forward orders and order completions
Review stock and work-in-progress

Hold management team meetings at agreed frequencies
* Chase debtor payments
* Ensure all Job Costings are coded correctly
* Oversee the smooth running of the contract
* Evaluate new vehicle and machinery requirements
* Ensure compliance with ISO accreditations and Quality procedures, Quality levels are achieved, Quality systems are in place and that the right first time philosophy is adhered to and customer satisfaction meets the required standard
* Take responsibility for the implementation of work measurement on the contracts
* Set up an effective organisational structure for all the contracts
* Determine staffing levels and establish an effective management team
* Recruit employees as necessary, following the company recruitment policy
* Ensure that all employees are effectively managed and employee records (including training records) are kept up-to-date
* Maintaining a good Employee Relations relationship
* Ensure good housekeeping and security is maintained within depots/yards/vehicles etc.
* Establish and maintain lists of suitable sub-contractors in accordance with Company policy
* Effectively implement and monitor the companys Health & Safety policy and associated procedures, championing a good Health & Safety environment within the contract service
* Ensuring that Client has a positive Public Relations image, and is seen as a professional, quality driven organisation
* Co-ordinating, coaching and directing the diverse service provisions of the contract
* Keep abreast of current horticulture techniques and help establish training programmes for employees
* Liaise with the Client Officers to:-agree programmes of work
* discuss technical matters
* inspect and certify completed work
* agree additional works
* resolve problems
The Contract Manager should also be prepared to take the initiative and continually improve operational activity. The person requires ambition and a high level of commitment. The Contract Manager is critical to decision making processes within the business.
